new month new start

so it's a new month in what should be our spring, though we seem to be missing the sun at the moment

I'm trying to lose weight as although I didn't gain any with my latest pregnancy, I'm still carrying the weight I gained from my sons pregnancy and he is 3 in September!!
so I am following the slimming world way of eating (as I have started to a few times before) and in my first week I've lost 3lbs, which being in the week of Easter makes me incredibly chuffed

As a mother of 2 children under the age of 3, I find little time to exercise (other than the running around after a 2 year old whirlwind!) so have decided to start small , I've recently purchased a cross trainer so i'm working up to doing longer on there, and im following a few challenges/regimes

currently on day two and it isn't as hard as it seems so far, my daughter loves it when she's sitting in her bouncy chair and I keep coming closer to her, and then further away again :)
I also like following this regime on the cross trainer, to mix it up a bit.

Blessing day

This mothering sunday I shared my day with my daughter in celebrating her birth with a blessing.

Allthough the day started with a flurry of snow, the sun eventually broke through the clouds, the service was short but sweet with our closest family and friends around us. I recieved a lovely bunch of daffodils and tulips from the church too which was very nice :)

we then moved on to our rented hall for some food and drinks, much of which was made by myself or my mother. The cake was made by a friend of my mam

I need to upload a picture of Evie's gown later on as didn't get one before hand and not many pictures of her could you see the full view.

Organza flower tutorial

I have been ever so busy these last few weeks getting ready for E's blessing but i've managed to get a tutorial together for you for this little beauty.

your first step is to cut out some cirluar shapes from your organza. they dont have to be neat or symetrical,
I used 3 larger shapes and 2 smaller.

now VERY carefully, hold the circles over a flame, dont let it touch the material though we don't want any fires. the heat should crinkle up the edges
like this^^ lovely eh?
so arange your shapes and either use a hot glue gun or sew them together in the middle
get some pretty beads and sew them sercurely in the middle of your flower.
and there you have it! you could use these for all sorts, hair bands, a corsage, put it on a bag, or attach a brooch back and put it on a shrug/cardigan to dress it up for a special occasions

If anyone has a go i would love to see your finished projects and I can showcase them all. please send an image to mymammycreates@gmail.com

Amazing cake pops

I'd like to recommend a blog to you all, this lady makes AH-MA-ZING cake pops!!

http://daintykatiecakes.blogspot.co.uk/

Not only are they delicious but her design skills are brilliant, she is always up for a challenge, as a returning customer, I should know, we bought our first batch back in 2011 for my sons 1st birthday party and they were an instant hit!. She catered to our jungle theme and produce an array of cute creatures.

I returned the following valentines for some romantic heart pops for my partner, which were also a big hit. And again for my grandfathers 70th birthday, this time a mixture of his favourite football teams shirts with his name and age on the back, and some plain blue pops, and finally in November for my partners 30th birthday, some football pops and again his favourite team shirts (rival team to my grandfathers I might add
again a huge success. She is amazing and I have no doubt I will be back again in the near future.

Busy doing nothing..

Sorry I haven't posted in an age, I have just been so busy doing pretty much nothing, when I say nothing, I of course mean being a mother to my two children but the days haven't had a great deal of anything to show for it, but we had fun and made some memories :)

I'm in the process of completing E's blessing dress and on the look out for a new camera so I can get some pictures sorted and get a tutorial up for something or other.

We collect the pixifoto photographs next week so I shall let you know how they all turn out.

And finally I've still been continuing with my crochet.

so lots to update with in the next post, just bare with me ,

new craft for 2013

So as a crafty person, I wanted to try a new craft this year, and as you may be able to tell this year, it is crochet. Today I wanted to share with you my latest creation for my youngest, here she is doing what she does best, sleeping and looking pretty .

so I'm not clever enough to come up with this on my own, I did have some help from a fabulous you tube user and her great video tutorials, I used the one below and although this is for an owl beanie, I just did all the bits before that, don't worry though an owl beanie is next on my list :),  I have found this users videos so helpful and have come from not knowing anything about crochet to completing projects to a standard I am happy with, so if you are thinking about taking up a new craft then why not give crochet a go, it's easier than it looks!

Hats and professional photographs

I've finished the hat for my expectant friend though now debating adding a little pink flower.

Today I discovered how to change colours whilst crocheting, as I'm just a beginner i was really rather proud I learnt this in one day :)
This is now going towards a hat for my expectant best mate (yes baby boom I know!!) maybe making it into one of those adorable owl hats that are becoming so popular :) I am so excited at the prospect of her baby's arrival in late April!

So as i mentioned in my last post, we had photographs taken of our two little angels by the wonderful PixiFoto (http://www.pixifoto.co.uk/) and I cant recommend them enough. Whilst taking beautiful photos they also accommodated for my two year old who was running riot and would rather push the photographers stand, with all her accessories on, than take any photos ha! But still we managed to get some fantastic photos of them both together and separate :) The photographer was really quite patient and made all sorts of funny noises to try and get them both to look at the camera and smile. We got a complimentary photograph with the sitting and the extra images were quite reasonably prices as professional photographs go. Worth taking a look at if you are thinking of having a professional shoot of your family

Sometime in the near future I'm planning on sewing up a dress for my youngests blessing, watch out for that one!

Tomorrow we are planning to touch up the kitchen, and I undecided if I should leave it the magnolia it is, change it to white for a nice clean look or add a splash of colour.

until next time

Introductions

Hi there, I'm not really familiar with the blog scene but I've a lot of friends blogging so I'm going to try and give it a go.

Intros first, I'm Sarah, and I'm 20 years old from county Durham in England. I live with my partner P , two gorgeous kids c (a 2 year old boy) and E (a 9 week old little girly) and our dog Roxy.

So what am i hoping to get out of this blog? well I'm the creative type so i want somewhere where i can share my projects and ideas, maybe even some tutorials on how I've done them. I want a place where i can show the fun things we do as a family with the kids too and welcome other peoples ideas. I have a whole bucket load of things i want to do and try so hopefully this blog will be enjoyable for me and any readers i may get :)

So this Evening I am multitasking, feeding E and crocheting a little newborn hat for a friend of mine who is due in march, I will post a photo of the finished project.

Tomorrow we are of to get some photographs done of our munchkins so should be a fun filled day of pulling faces to get smiles and chasing after the toddler when he gets bored after 5 mins! I joke but I'm sure it will be an all round lovely day

over and out from me tonight
